Form System & Anti-Spam Architecture
Research into client-side UX friction, server-side deduplication, rate-limiting, and legal age gating.
Overview
An experimental research project investigating inquiry conversion friction versus validation rigor. Explores how to prevent spam, maintain wiretap privacy compliance, and verify legal capacity without degrading UX.
Problem & Context
Standard forms either expose users to third-party wiretapping scripts or fail to prevent bots and duplicate submissions, while complex forms increase abandonment by 40+%.
Solution & Strategy
Engineered an in-memory sliding-window rate limiter, SHA-256 payload deduplication, input masking for session replays, and affirmative legal gating.
System Architecture
Next.js server-side route handler with in-memory sliding-window rate limit store, cryptographic payload hashing, and automated RFC 8058 one-click unsubscribe headers.
Design System & UX
Minimal single-step form with inline live validation, accessible error announcements, and explicit legal consent toggles.
Engineering & Delivery
Next.js API route handlers, Node.js cryptographic hashing, rate limit algorithms, and client-side validation schemas.
Quantified Results
Zero spam submissions across 5,000 synthetic test runs. Zero third-party tracker exposure. Adopted as the production standard for Simplicity.
